St. George's Basilica is the best-preserved Romanesque church in Prague and it´s also the oldest church building within the Prague Castle complex.
Founded by Prince Vratislav (915-921), was enlarged in 973 with the building of St. George's Benedictine Convent. It was rebuilt after a major fire in 1142.
St. George's Basilica now serves as a concert hall and provides early evening classical concerts.
