This is where the headquarters of the SS were and you can still feel a chill in the air. For those who have interest of and are willing to explore where it all came from, this outdoor museum is for you. The signs telling you what was in each building are all in German, but you can borrow a free audio tour from the info kiosk. The Gestapo headquaters, the SS central command, the SS security service and after 1939, the Reich Security Main Office were all here. Holocaust plans were drawn here and many of the victims were tortured at an onsite prison as well. Opened since 1997, it was only going to be a temporary exibit but has remained as a reminder and has visitors from all over the world daily. There is also a small section of the Wall here as well. Dark reminders can be hard and sensitive and this place is surly one of those reminders.
