Berlin Passion
Article by:
Yesterday I was having a massage done and was so tense that the woman asked me to think about something that made me feel good and relaxed. It took two seconds to conjure up the image of myself wandering the streets of Berlin and having a nap in the Lustgarten (of course, that in summer time as in winter time they would find me frozen). The smell of the oil that she was using made me travel to the wonderful Berlin autumm, the pleasure of walking in the hundreds of parks all over the city with all the range of colours that have that sense of nostalgia, with a weather that makes you want to go for short walk and then go back home, prepare yourself a cup of coffee and snuggle up in a blanket and watch the telly before going to bed.

My friends often ask me what I was given in Berlin to love it so much. It's true that it doesn't have the grandeur of Paris, London or Rome, but I find that it's humble beauty that doesnt make me feel overwhelmed despite it's sheer size compared to other great cities where their size and amount of monuments or the ridiculuos prices are disheartening.

Some of the other things that I really appreciate about Berlin is its classical beauty, its safety, a wide range and cheap access to cultural events, its parks (Achtung with the exhibitionists), its lakes, museums and what is best there than an ice cream from Potsdamer Platz and of course the best bread and cakes in the world (try the Black Forest Gateau). And I mean that. Another cant-miss aspect about Berlin is its gorgeous men! Yummy. I say that in a jokey way of course, (no I dont actually) but its people or at least the ones I've met have always left a good taste in my mouth (no, not because of kissing). Needless to say, I am reminiscing about my favourite city in Europe and having a massage has made me sentimental and happy.
