Daytrip Gaudi for beginners and not only for those by: la_lucia
Antoni Gaudi is somewhat of a national hero and a local saint to Barcelona and Catalonia. It is impossible to imagine Barcelona as we know it today without his buildings. Sounds pretty beaten, but you should see at least some of his ingenious works when visiting the Catalonian capital.

la_lucia's note for Park Güell - Gaudi:
Start from Park Güell early in the morning and then move "down" towards the sea. Mind the wonderful view from the highest point of the park, the Mountain of Three Crosses. I'm talking not just about the landscape of the city, I also mean the nearby roof of Barcelona squat and anarchist center, where you can read wonderful things like "Okupa y resiste" and "Why call it tourist season if we can't shoot them?!" :)

depending on the season, definitely daily 9am-6pm

Calle Mallorca 401
la_lucia's note for La Sagrada Familia - Gaudi:
Sagrada Familia, 130 years in construction, has now 8 towers. What it should have when it's finally finished (let's hope and pray!): 12 towers dedicated to the 12 Apostles; 4 towers dedicated to 4 Evangelists (Marcus, Lucas, John, Matthew); one tower dedicated to Virgin Mary and, finally, the 170-meter(!) dome praising the Christ. Maybe, some day...
